Red Light Therapy Benefits

I’m super excited to announce that Nourishing Massage now offers Red Light Therapy or Red Light Photobiomodulation inside of their Cuyahoga Falls location. You can now add it to your scheduled massage session.

Last year, I came across a video on YouTube talking about the benefits of red light therapy and I quickly went down the rabbit hole and found a lot of scientific research like this, 5,000 plus articles of peer-reviewed studies about the benefits of red light therapy. I knew in the future that I wanted to bring a red light therapy device home and to you.

What made me want to purchase a red light therapy device?

  1. Pain Management. As most of you know I suffer from Fibromylagia and auto-immune issues. I never know how I’m going to feel when I wake up or when my next major fibro flare-up is going to be. I also suffer from Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness (DOMS) that last days after a yoga class or workout on the gymnastic rings. After finding a study like this one I knew I needed to give it a try.
  2. Thyroid Health. In the not-so-distant past, I had an issue with my thyroid where my T4 was not being converted into T3, that’s the form our bodies need for energy. Needless to say, even though I’m off my thyroid medication, I still get tired quickly and have several bouts of brain fog. There are several studies that show red-light therapy is beneficial for hypothyroidism.
  3. Vanity. Yes, even though I am told that I look 10 years younger than I actually am I still would like to rewind the clock some days. I take pride in how my skin looks. After all, it is my largest organ. As we age the collagen and elastin production decreases in our skin. Red light therapy has been beneficial to promote the growth of collagen and elastin in the skin. Making our skin maintain its resilience and elasticity. I want to age gracefully. I’m also hopeful that it will help me with the hair loss that I continue to experience due to my auto-immune issues.

I have used it only four times since I received it but I have noticed that I’m sleeping better and waking up with more energy. In the morning after doing a 20-minute session of the red light therapy I noticed a spring in my step like a caffeine drip in my veins. It’s still too early to report anything about pain management or how my skin looks and feels. But, I will keep you posted.
