IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY
As the distribution of COVID-19 vaccines gains momentum, I find myself contemplating a crucial question: when is the most suitable time for clients to receive a massage post-vaccination? To address this concern, I recently reached out to ABMP (my trusted massage insurance provider) for guidance, and their recommendation has prompted me to establish a new Vaccine Policy immediately. This policy aims to safeguard not only your well-being but also that of my other valued clients and myself. These guidelines are non-negotiable and are designed to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all.
COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY
If you have received your COVID-19 vaccination, I kindly request that you exercise caution and wait for a minimum of three days after each injection before scheduling your massage appointment. This precautionary period allows for any potential delayed reactions to the vaccine to manifest.
In the event that you experience any symptoms following your vaccination, we kindly request that you postpone your scheduled massage until these symptoms have subsided, and you are feeling better. Your health and safety is my top priority, and I want to ensure that you have a pleasant and comfortable massage experience.
Furthermore, for the time being, even if you have received your vaccine(s), I require that you continue to wear a mask throughout the entirety of your scheduled appointment. This mask must be worn snugly over your nose and mouth, with no exceptions. If you do not have a mask of your own, I will gladly provide one for you. During the portion of the massage when you are lying face down, you will have the option to temporarily remove your mask and place it in a designated bin. Rest assured, a pillowcase will be in place to capture any airborne particulates, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
It is essential to note that, at present, scientific studies have not definitively confirmed that the COVID-19 vaccine completely prevents virus transmission. Additionally, there remains uncertainty regarding the effectiveness of the vaccine against new, more transmissible strains of the virus. Therefore, even if you are vaccinated, it is possible that you may unknowingly carry and transmit the virus to others.
While I understand that these policies and procedures may not be ideal, I emphasize that they are temporary measures put in place to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Our collective efforts today to limit the virus’s spread will contribute to a quicker return to a semblance of normalcy. Your cooperation and adherence to these safety measures are greatly appreciated, and I look forward to a time when these precautions are no longer necessary.
